Job Title: HR Generalist
Job Description
We are looking for a talented Site Human Resource Generalist for our location in Warren, MI. As the Site HR Generalist, you will be at the heart of our HR operations, leading key initiatives that empower our employees and support business success. You will support all three shifts, understand payroll (but not process it), and be knowledgeable about HR policies. You will also be involved on the floor, comfortable walking out there and giving tours.
Responsibilities
- Developing and refining job descriptions to attract top talent
- Leading recruitment efforts, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding
- Driving engagement initiatives, such as employee surveys and stay interviews
- Overseeing performance management, wage reviews, and training programs
- Providing site-specific support for FMLA, ADA, OSHA, and safety compliance
- Maintaining accurate employee records and analyzing HR metrics to inform decision-making
- Fostering a culture of safety, excellence, and respect
- Recruiting (40% of the time)
- Managing employee relations (40% of the time)
- Handling other ad-hoc HR duties, wellness programs, and employee retention
- Assisting with onboarding of new employees electronically, creating badges, and working with IT to set them up in the system
- Being the first line of contact for benefits inquiries
- Completing at least one audit per month
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources role (recruiting, interviewing, employee relations, HR policy, understanding payroll)
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Experience working with HRIS systems (iSolved preferred)
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Canva, and smartphone/apps/social media
- High emotional intelligence (EQ)
- Solutions-oriented mindset
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Canva
- Experience working with the iSolved HRIS system
- Experience dealing with high turnover
- Experience working in diverse organizations
- Familiarity with the 'Bucket List' app for employee recognition
Work Environment
The position is onsite in Warren, MI, within a typical manufacturing facility with an office area at the front. There are currently 44 people at this location. The hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, although there is some flexibility. The previous HR Generalist would come in at 5am on Fridays to leave early. While you will sit in the office area, you must be comfortable going out on the floor.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
